    The Week in Rochdale/Whitworth.
Had a look at Hollingworth Lake, firstly at the feeders:-lots of tits, finches plus a Brambling and a single Siskin. Then on the lake itself:-5 Cormorant,8 Goosander, usual gulls and a large flock of Canada Geese.Trees near the walk down to the hide, alders I think, a large flock of Siskin(40+)
150 Pink Footed Geese heading north over Whitworth on Sunday.
A trip down the Dell on Monday revealed lots of Blue and Great Tits, but not the hoped for Woodcock even after lots of “off the beaten track”searching! Up at Spring Mill Reservoir the 2 Little Owls sat in the gloom watching out for their next meal!
